Go on an immersive journey through the history of Chinatown.
Each experience is told through the point-of-view of a “former resident” – a hardworking coolie, a resilient ‘samsui’ woman, or a skilled hawker. Venture through the spaces they once inhabited and communities they thrived in, and hear their stories of struggles, triumphs, and everything in between.

Discover the lives of early Chinatown settlers through evocative exhibits, with engaging storytelling and character performance, history comes alive, offering a unique and memorable glimpse into old Chinatown in the 1950s.
There is a total of 3 main display zones in the Centre:
Zone 1: Shophouse Living (Level 1 & 2)
Zone 2: Arrival and Settling in (Level 3)
Zone 3: Migrants’ End & Heritage Brands (Level 2)
It’s more than a tour, it’s a chance to step back in time and experience Chinatown in a way you won’t find anywhere else.
Important Notes
- Tickets sold are non-transferable, non-refundable, non-reschedulable, and void if altered or duplicated.
- Each ticket admits one person which will be checked at entry and is valid only on the date of the ticket.
- Children under the age of 3 enter for free.
- Your ticket entitles you to entry to the Centre’s galleries. Please note that you may need to queue for entry.
- Re-entry is not allowed.
- Children under the age of 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
